Aliens in The Attic

Awalnya, Stuart Pearson (Kevin Nealon) dan istrinya, Nina (Gillian Vigman) hanya ingin menghabiskan liburan bersama anak-anak mereka di rumah peristirahatan. Celakanya ada hal yang tak diduga Stuart dan Nina. Rumah peristirahatan mereka telah dihuni sekelompok makhluk dari planet lain.

Empat alien bernama Skip, Assassin, Razor, dan Sparks yang datang lebih dulu mendiami lantai paling atas dari rumah peristirahatan keluarga Pearson di Maine. Tak ada yang tahu bahwa ada 'pendatang' dari planet lain sampai Tom Pearson (Carter Jenkins, Jake (Austin Butler) dan anak-anak lain menemukan kawanan alien ini.
Walaupun salah satu dari alien itu menunjukkan persahabatan, namun yang lain punya rencana jahat yang mengancam keselamatan keluarga Pearson. Untungnya, Tom dan Jake menyadari bahwa senjata milik para alien ini tak berpengaruh pada anak kecil dan kini tugas para anak-anak ini untuk menyelamatkan orang tua mereka dan seluruh penghuni bumi dari ancaman maut para 'tamu' dari dunia lain ini (kapanlagi.com).

Empat "Alien" MotoGP

Banyak Rider Menantang Alien

SEPEKAN lagi penggemar MotoGP bisa menyaksikan awal persaingan seru musim 2011. Balapan malam hari di Losail, Qatar, menjadi pembuka perebutan gelar juara dunia. Dibandingkan tahun-tahun sebelumnya, persaingan di MotoGP 2011 diprediksi bakal lebih “brutal”.

Daftar unggulan masih berkisar kepada empat "alien" MotoGP, yaitu juara bertahan Jorge Lorenzo, pembalap anyar Repsol Honda Casey Stoner, Dani Pedrosa dan pembalap Ducati Valentino Rossi. Tapi, barisan kuda hitam makin banyak. Sebut saja pembalap tim Repsol Honda lainnya, Andrea Dovizioso serta Marco Simoncelli yang membela tim satelit Honda Gresini. Pembalap Ducati Nicky Hayden juga menjadi ancaman bagi para "alien" itu.

Bos tim Rizla Suzuki Paul Denning beranggapan musim 2011 akan menjadi musim brutal. Penggemar MotoGP bakal disuguhi persaingan yang seru di tiap balapan oleh 17 pembalap yang masuk line-up. Menurutnya, musim depan akan menjadi musim paling seru dari yang pernah berlangsung.

"Dari awal hingga akhir, akan menjadi balapan yang brutal. Banyak yang bilang dari jumlah grid pembalap. Tapi itu bukan jaminan," ungkap Denning kepada MCN.

Denning mencontohkan pada era 500 cc tahun 1990-an. Ada 30 pembalap yang ikut bersaing di hampir tiap balapan. Namun, yang benar-benar bersaing di papan atas hanya Michael Doohan dan beberapa pembalap. Doohan dan delapan pembalap terdepan tiga detik jauhnya dari pembalap berikutnya.

"Sebelumnya, ada pertarungan lima hingga enam pembalap. Tahun ini Anda mendapatkan sepuluh atau bahkan 12 pembalap yang punya kemampuan untuk di depan di setiap akhir pekan," lanjut Denning.

Dia menilai, persaingan ketat akan terjadi antara Honda dan Yamaha. Uji coba pramusim memang sudah menunjukkan tanda-tanda tersebut.

"Dani dan Casey jelas akan bersaing satu sama lain. Tapi saya kira dengan karakteristik terbaiknya, Yamaha akan berada di depan saat berlomba di lintasan dengan grip yang kurang. Itu karena sifat asli halus pada motor mereka yang akan membantu para pembalapnya," tambahnya.

"Tapi saya kira, kelompok tiga atau empat pembalap (terdepan) di beberapa balapan akan bertambah, menjadi delapan pembalap," tegasnya.(ady/jpnn/zal)

ALL FOUR ALIEN FILMS COMING TO BLU-RAY SEPARATELY

Those of you who didn't have the cash to shell out for the ALIEN Anthology Blu-ray set - or you just didn't want to get stuck with a bad sequel - are in luck! 20th Century Fox will release the four films in the series on Blu-ray separately on May 10.

Artwork and specs have not yet been revealed, but each film - ALIEN, ALIENS,ALIEN 3 and ALIEN: RESURRECTION - is expected to include the same special features as it did in the box set, save for the content of the bonus disks. They are as follows:

The Australian Rock band ASTRAL ALIENS - the only-ever, 2-Time Champions of the KROQ BATTLE for LOS ANGELES.

The Aussies again battled it out against 30 of LA’s other elite bands, winning the 2009 KROQ Grand Finale at The Knitting Factory, Hollywood. One of America’s leading music publications, Music Connection Magazine, reported on the KROQ event, saying: “Astral Aliens conquered the Los Angeles rock scene once again…they blew the competition away.”

With KROQ being one of America’s iconic Rock Radio stations, the bragging rights attached to winning The Battle For LA are among the most highly sought after by up and coming bands in America…and the Astral Aliens have won it twice.

This month, ASTRAL ALIENS will find themselves at the top of Music Connection Magazine’s “HOTTEST 100 BANDS”, listed in MC’s year-end issue.

Plus, they are in the Final Four of 7-ELEVEN’s 2009 US National Battle of the Bands.

The Fehres brothers and Slater are seasoned Karate practitioners, and martial arts katas and the Australian Aboriginal didgeridoo form part of the ASTRAL ALIENS’ unique, high energy stage performances.

When asked by LA’s All Access Magazine what it means to the band to win the KROQ ‘B4LA’ again, Jake Fehres said: “Winning the first time was very cool, but I guess that doing it for a second time means that we’re one of the top bands in LA, one of the music capitals of the world. For some guys from Brisbane Australia, that is truly awesome for us.”

The band members are no strangers to band contests – they’ve won several of them in Australia. The Aussies first rose to prominence Down Under by winning the “Bandfest” rock contest, soon after which they won the "Best Radio-Friendly Band" title at the finals of "ROCKSTAR…The Real Deal!", the rock band search sponsored by Australia’s leading rock radio network, Triple M, and Coca-Cola. They were also the Runners-Up in the Australian Grand Final of the Jim Beam National Band Competition, as well as the Winner of the Queensland State Final of the World Battle Of The Bands contest.

ASTRAL ALIENS is the latest in a long line of chart topping Australian artists who were discovered, produced and launched in Australia and internationally by Wizard Records, which has been among Australia’s leading independent record labels for over 30 years.
