Alien Fashion Show

Voice, trumpet: Eldon Daetweiler - Licensed to thrill.
Drums: Jeff Daetweiler - Krupa's back! Hide your daughter and hold your hat.
Guitar: "Junkyard" Todd Thurman - Daddy's on fire. Big fat guitar and gasoline on the rocks.
Keys: Kenji Saito - The secret weapon. cool, baby....cool.
Bass: Jeffrey Alan - When this cat walks, everybody swings....hard....as in barnstorm.

The boys landed in late 1996, and have since shaken the rafters from The House of Blues and Tipitinas in New Orleans to San Francisco's Warfield Theatre to Los Angeles' Greek Theatre. (OK there's really no rafters at the Greek) In April 1998 they recorded their debut on Surfdog Records, produced by Jim Wirt who's producing and engineering credits include Sprung Monkey, Fiona Apple, and guitar slinger Brian Setzer. In August they'll hit the road opening 15+ shows for Setzer and his 17 piece rockin' big band.

This band is creating quite a little buzz in Los Angeles, and their debut disk shows they are worthy. Alien Fashion Show gracefully straddle the line between lounge jazz, rockabilly and rock and roll. These songs would feel equally comfortable in the 40's, the 50's and the 90's. Lead singer Eldon Daetweiler's smooth vocals surf over a swinging bed of guitar, bass and horns.
Styles stray from the rollicking rhythm and roll of "Rocket #95" to the jump shout boogie of "Mocambo" to the spaghetti western neo-Orbison vibe of "Bad Man On The Moon." Keep an eye out for Alien Fashion Show. It looks like a contender.
